Closing Ventizo — A Personal Note
Today I’m sharing a decision that wasn’t easy to make: Ventizo will be closing.
Over the past months I have been reflecting on where I stand today, both personally and professionally. Significant changes in my personal circumstances led me to step back and take a broader look at the work I’ve been doing and what I would like the next phase of my career to look like.
After about fifteen years of working as an entrepreneur, this moment felt like the right time to make a change.
Looking Back
Building Ventizo has been an incredibly meaningful journey for me. What started as an exploration of ideas around modern documentation and developer tooling gradually grew into a small ecosystem of open-source tools used by developers around the world.
During that time I had the opportunity to work on projects that I genuinely care about — especially the Thulite product line and the Doks documentation theme. Seeing developers adopt these tools, build on them, and contribute back has been one of the most rewarding parts of the experience.
I’m grateful to everyone who supported these projects over the years.
The Future of Thulite
Although Ventizo as a company is closing, the Thulite projects themselves are not going away.
The Thulite GitHub organization will remain active, and all projects will continue to be available as open source:
- Thulite
- Thulite SEO
- Thulite Images
- Thulite SVG
- Doks
These projects will remain under my personal care. In practical terms, this means very little will change for users and contributors. The tools will continue to exist and evolve — simply as personal open-source projects rather than products backed by Ventizo.

Looking Ahead
Closing Ventizo also opens the door to a new chapter for me personally.
After many years of building and running my own company, I’m looking forward to applying my experience in a different environment — ideally within an innovative and forward-thinking company where I can contribute to meaningful new ideas and products.
With roughly a decade left before retirement, I’m excited about the opportunity to focus on collaboration, learning, and helping shape the next generation of technology.
Thank You
To everyone who used, contributed to, or supported Ventizo and its projects: thank you.
Your interest, feedback, and contributions made this journey worthwhile. Even though Ventizo is coming to an end, the open-source work that grew out of it will continue.
And for that, I’m deeply grateful.
